Tell me what you want me to do
When you want people to sign up to your email list, ask them to. Don’t write “You can sign up here if you want to”. Write “Sign up here”.
It sounds obvious, but many websites overlook this simple formulation.
Tell people what you want them to do on your site. Explain it to them, show why it will be good for them, and then ask them to do it.
One thing we do at Amlot is look at an existing website and find out what the viewer is supposed to do. It’s tempting to write about your product and your mission, but it’s sometimes harder to get the viewer to do what you want them to do.
We can help you. We’ll analyse your site and make modest suggestions that will help you communicate better with your readers.
Write to us today and let’s discuss which steps will help you.
